The whole italian route follows the ancient Via Francigena, passing by the small towns that every year welcome the thousands of pilgrims that walk along its path. On this first part of our adventure we can count on the collaboration with the European Association of the Via Francigena that ideally rides with us up to Great St. Bernard Pass. Once reached the first pass at the french border (Col de la Bonette) we ride along Alps towards east Europe, smoothly “descending” along the Danube cycle path we enter Asia passing by Russia, then we head to South Asia towards China. Facing the humid and monsoonal climate of India, Vietnam,Thailand and Indonesia we embark to Australia, riding the most dangerous creatures of the world land we reach the south coast to leave again for North America. Dismissing the swimwear and wearing winter clothes we fly over the ocean to reach the cold territories of Alaska. Here we prepare to face the 30.000 km of Transamerica route and the continuos climate changes we experience along the extensive part that leads us to South America and Tierra del Fuego. Just the time of visiting the end of the world to leave again north to Brazil, where we embark to reach South Africa. Here the voyage heads north towards the Eastern Africa lands, to return Italy, and Rome, riding on the South Via Francigena.
