7 Seven are the hills on which Rome was built seven are the dots that sign the complete itinerary of this adventure. This is not just a voyage, but a sporting challenge whose mission is to support humanitarian and social initiatives and to promote the bicycle as the ultimate mean of transportation, spreading a way of traveling that is much slower and makes one aware of distances and places.

Sport mission

Leaving from our native city, Rome, we will ride our bicycles to the top of the seven highest passable mountain passes of the world, one for each continent. From the 1.830 m of Mount Hotham (the lowest pass) to the 5.100 m of the Abra Azuca pass in the Andes. The Route crosses more than 50 countries and 100.000 km all by bicycle. Where possible we will climb up the most locally well known mountain top, planning the expeditions with the same “in complete autonomy” style that characterizes the entire adventure.

Humanitarian mission

Goal of the project is to fundraise money for World Bicycle Relief, an American ONG. The mission of the Organization is to mobilize and make independent small communities of the developing countries, in which distributes bicycles and trains specialized mechanics in the field. WBR operates in Africa, South East Asia and South America, places we will be visiting along our journey.

Social mission

Traveling by bicycle allows us to get deeply in touch with the different local realities we encounter along the way. Our project’s goal is also the promotion of a different way of traveling, which is far more responsible and sustainable. Therefor AITR (Italian Association for Responsible Tourism) has proclaimed us ambassadors for the responsible traveller code, and with their support we commit ourselves to preserve and promote respectful behavior towards the local environment and cultures. The project is a vehicle that moves outside the typical tourist routes and makes us aware of the different cultures and needs of the peoples we meet.
